A number of Chinese companies, including e-commerce giant Alibaba Group Holding and smartphone maker Xiaomi, have made donations of at least 370 million yuan and provided emergency aid services for disaster relief in regions including Beijing, North China's Hebei Province and East China's Fujian Province that were recently hit by a devastating typhoon Doksuri and torrential rainfallwhich caused 11 deaths in Beijing.

Beijing-based internet giant ByteDance said on Wednesday that it will donate 100 million yuan and provide emergency aid services to flooded regions including Beijing, Hebei, Fujian and Tianjin. In the wake of the disaster, the company said that it will focus on key groups including the underaged, the elderly and the disabled, while supporting the restoration of schools and homes in the regions hit by flash floods.

E-commerce giants Alibaba, JD and Pinduoduo each announced a 30 million yuan donation to those regions. Alibaba also said that its grocery arm Freshippo and hypermarket affiliate RT-Mart sent a first batch of emergency supplies to the areas more severely impacted by the disaster on Tuesday. Alibaba’s e-commerce platform Taobao also opened channels for donations. Meanwhile, JD will organize its delivery team to directly hand the supplies to those in need.

In addition to earlier donation of about 7 million yuan for emergency aid, Tencent said on Wednesday that it will donate another 100 million yuan to the affected regions. The company said that 267 employees have volunteered to aid emergency response efforts.

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi donated 25 million yuan for disaster relief work in Beijing and Hebei. Domestic leading electric vehicle marker Li Auto said that it has donated 20 million yuan to Beijing, which will be used for disaster relief and recovery.

After making landfall in China’s southern provinces, Doksuri's remaining airflow changed course and arrived in the northern regions around Beijing on July 29. For the following three days, heavy rains soaked the area, causing floods that impacted nearly 45,000 people and claimed eleven lives as of Tuesday. The economic losses have yet to be calculated.

The national capital has stepped up its efforts in disaster relief by employing helicopters to airdrop essential goods and evacuate stranded residents. The city is also collaborating with neighboring Tianjin and Hebei in flood control.

8月2日，京东集团公益基金会宣布捐赠3000万元物资驰援防汛救灾。目前，首批物资已送达救灾一线，与此同时，京东还组织当地快递小哥将部分应急物资直接送达急需救援的老人、儿童和急重病人手中。

8月2日，拼多多宣布向中华慈善总会捐赠3000万元，用于抢险救灾，采购物资和救援设备，安置受灾群众，特别是对困难群众的帮扶，帮助各地灾后重建、复工复产。

8月2日，北京字节跳动公益基金会宣布捐赠1亿元人民币，联合公益机构，为京津冀及福建等受灾严重的地区提供紧急救援，解决部分灾区物资缺乏的情况。后续还将重点聚焦青少年、老年人与残疾人等群体，支持灾后学校重建、房屋修缮及产业帮扶等。

此外，7月31日，抖音、今日头条、字节跳动公益平台联合多家媒体，开通“暴雨互助帮忙”通道，方便受灾用户求助。截至8月2日，抖音寻人通过“暴雨互助帮忙”通道及直播等渠道已找到7名失联者。、

8月2日，腾讯宣布，腾讯基金会追加抗汛救灾捐赠资金1亿元。捐赠资金将用于响应受灾地区紧急援助需求、过渡安置、灾后重建、复工复产、困难群众保障等工作。此前，腾讯基金会已联动多家机构开展救灾行动，启动常态备灾资金近700万元，用于清理淤沙、环境恢复、转运安置等。

8月2日清晨，小米公益基金会发布微博称，紧急捐赠2500万元，用于保障北京、河北受灾群众的人身安全、采购紧急救灾物资和救援设备，及帮助灾后重建工作。随后，雷军在社交媒体也转发了该条内容。

8月1日，理想汽车宣布向北京市慈善协会捐款2000万元，用于开展紧急救灾，包括灾后道路、桥梁、校园、家园等基础设施的修缮，以及困难家庭救助等领域的工作。

近日，超强台风“杜苏芮”造成我国多地受灾，其中北京、天津、河北、福建等地部分区域灾情严重。针对京津冀地区近期暴雨洪涝灾害，财政部、应急管理部星期二已紧急预拨1.1亿元中央自然灾害救灾资金，支持三省、市做好防汛救灾工作。中共中央组织部近日也从代中央管理党费中给北京、河北、天津划拨专项资金4400万元，用于支持防汛救灾工作。

另据新华社报道，国家防总当日协调应急管理、自然资源、水利、住建、交通、卫健等部门，派出两个多部门联合抢险救援专家组，紧急赶赴北京门头沟、房山暴雨洪涝灾害一线，协助指导开展抢险救援工作Agra Stock。

Chinese Ministry of Finance issued a total of 12 billion yuan of yuan-dominated bonds in the Hong Kong SAR on Wednesday, with the issuance 2.5 times oversubscribed by investors, showing the allure of yuan assets. The 12 billion yuan of bonds, comprising tranches of two-year bonds worth 6 billion yuan, three-year bonds worth 3 billion yuan and five-year bonds worth 3 billion yuan, was broadly welcomed by investors with subscriptions reaching 42.4 billion yuan.

US chip conglomerate Intel has recently built a new innovation center in Shenzhen, the manufacturing and technology hub in South China's Guangdong Province. The new innovation center, located in Shenzhen's Nanshan District, aims to serve as an innovation exchange platform jointly created by the district government and Intel. At an opening ceremony of the Intel Greater Bay Area Innovation Center, six companies that moved into the center inked deals, and another six companies signed MoUs with Intel, according to a statement of the center.

German auto supplier ZF Group has opened a new R&D center in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong Province, where it also kicked start construction of an auto electronics plant. The Guangzhou tech center is the company's fourth R&D center in China and the first in south China. It focuses on areas such as software development, mechatronic design, and system integration, ZF said at a launch ceremony on Tuesday. Scheduled for mass production in 2025, the Guangzhou plant is the firm's second automotive electronics factory in China, whose products will include advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), safety electronics, and chassis controllers.

The Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) on Wednesday unveiled new rules aimed at fighting internet addiction in children. Under the restrictions, set to come into force on September 2 following a public consultation, anyone under the age of 18 will be cut off from accessing the internet with a mobile device between 10 pm and 6 am. The measures would build upon existing efforts to strengthen the online protection of minors, it added, including by "enriching age-appropriate content" and reducing "the influence of bad information”. Besides smart phones and tablets, the new rules will also apply to wearables and other devices including learning machines.

网信办拟升级未成年人网络保护模式：8月2日，国家网信办研究起草了《移动互联网未成年人模式建设指南》，意见反馈截止日期为2023年9月2日。指南将全面升级“青少年模式”为“未成年人模式”，推动模式覆盖范围由APP扩大到移动智能终端、应用商店，实现软硬件三方联动，为未成年人营造安全健康的网络环境。根据指南，在未成年人模式下，移动智能终端每日22时至次日6时期间禁止向未成年人提供服务。适用范围将包括智能手机、平板电脑、儿童智能手表、早教机等智能终端和智能可穿戴设备，各类APP和应用商店、应用中心、互联网小程序平台等服务。国家网信办将继续指导网站平台持续推进青少年模式建设，扩大覆盖范围，优化功能设置，丰富适龄内容，帮助未成年人减少网络沉迷和不良信息影响。

Volkswagen is reportedly in talks with Chinese electric vehicle startup Zhejiang Leapmotor Technology about the possibility of cooperation for Volkswagen's Jetta brand. A joint venture between VW and state-owned Chinese automaker FAW Group could "buy" a platform of EV technologies from Leapmotor, the report said. Leapmotor unveiled on Monday a new platform it developed in-house for making vehicles, which its chief executive said it wanted to license to other automakers. CEO Zhu Jiangming told reporters that Leapmotor was in advanced talks with two foreign companies about such a partnership, including a new player in the electric vehicle segment, which could produce Leapmotor-developed models in overseas markets.

Shares of SF Holding, China’s largest express delivery company, fell after it announced plans for a secondary listing in Hong Kong. The offering will not exceed 10 percent of SF’s total outstanding shares after the listing, the firm said in a statement late Tuesday. It will give the intermediary agency an over-allotment right of up to 15 percent of the H shares issued, SF said, adding that the sale is expected within 18 months if approved by shareholders on Aug. 17.

顺丰官宣赴港二次上市：8月1日晚间，顺丰控股发公告，公司计划发行境外上市外资股（H股）股票并申请在香港联交所主板挂牌上市。顺丰控股表示，在符合香港联交所要求的最低发行比例、最低流通比例的规定或要求的前提下，结合公司自身资金需求和未来业务发展的资本需求，此次发行的H股股数，不超过发行后公司总股本的10%(超额配售权行使前)，并授予整体协调人不超过前述发行的H股股数15%的超额配售权。根据公告，顺丰控股拟在8月17日召开2023年第一次临时股东大会。

Earnings reports express

Chinese leading liquor maker Kweichow Moutai said its net profit soared nearly 21 percent in the first half of the year thanks to rising sales through direct channels. Net profit was 36 billion yuan in the first six months, up 20.8 percent from a year earlier, it announced yesterday. Revenue jumped 20.8 percent to 69.6 billion yuan. Both first-half net profit and revenue rose more than expected.

贵州茅台上半年大赚360亿：贵州茅台8月2日晚间发布半年度业绩报告称，2023年上半年营业收入约695.76亿元，同比增加20.76%；归属于上市公司股东的净利润约359.8亿元，同比增加20.76%。

China has decided to extend several favorable measures, including lending support and tax reduction, for micro and small firms to boost their growth. Taxpayers with monthly sales revenue of no more than 100,000 yuan will continue to be exempt from value-added tax, according to statements jointly released by the Ministry of Finance and the State Taxation Administration on Wednesday. Meanwhile, small firms and self-employed households will continue to enjoy a 1 percent favorable value-added tax rate. Lender income stemming from loan interest and guarantee fees related to such small business entities will remain free from value-added tax, and their loan contracts will continue to be exempt from stamp duty.

Chinese local governments have cranked up the issuance of special purpose bonds this year to supplement the capital of small and mid-sized banks amid ongoing operating pressures at the lenders. Twelve provincial-level governments issued about 135.2 billion yuan of SPBs in the seven months ended July 31, compared with 63 billion yuan for the whole of last year, according to open-market data.

中小银行专项债发行再扩列：2023年，中小银行经营仍承压，专项债发行再提速。据Wind7月统计数据显示，今年以来，已有辽宁、甘肃、内蒙古、黑龙江、安徽等12个省自治区及地级市陆续完成发行中小银行专项债，累计规模达1352亿元。而这一数据，在此前的三年，分别是353亿元、1594亿元、630亿元。

China announced on Wednesday the extension of favorable taxation policies for venture capital firms and individual angel investors making investment in tech startups. Under the policies, which will be extended until the end of 2027, those investors or investment firms that pick up a stake in a tech startup at the seed stage or early stage, and which stay invested for two or more years, can deduct 70 percent of their investment amount from their taxable income.

两部门延续执行支持初创科技型企业政策：8月2日，财政部、税务总局发布关于延续执行创业投资企业和天使投资个人投资初创科技型企业有关政策条件的公告。公告称，公司制创业投资企业采取股权投资方式直接投资于种子期、初创期科技型企业满2年的，可以按照投资额的70%在股权持有满2年的当年抵扣该公司制创业投资企业的应纳税所得额；当年不足抵扣的，可以在以后纳税年度结转抵扣。

Chinese stocks rose on Thursday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite up 0.6 percent, and the Shenzhen Component added 0.5 percent. Hong Kong stocks ended mixed with the Hang Seng index sliding 0.5 percent, while the TECH index gained 0.4 percent.
